故事讲述了经营一家皮肤管理中心32岁大龄剩女尤可一，受到感情创伤后，在妈妈的催促下频繁相亲且不断失败，导致其妈妈为此气病。不料公司又发生重大事故需要重金赔偿，为此尤可一经受着家庭，事业的双重考验。所幸女主凭着乐观，不认输的精神终得爱情、事业双丰收的结局。影片并以此呼吁社会给予剩女这个群体理解与尊重。

影片改编自浅仓秋成创作的同名小说，讲述了一个在社交媒体上，毫无根据的信息被视为“真相”，并逐渐演变成重大事件的现代冤案恐怖故事。阿部宽饰演的主角是大型住宅建材公司的营业部长山县泰介，有一天突然在社交媒体上被指认为“杀人事件的凶手”，个人信息被曝光。虽然完全无辜，却被社会追捕、陷入“网络风暴”之中，不得不逃亡。

　　小女孩Aurora(Sloan)去寻求邻居(米科尔森)的帮助：她相信家人被住在自己床底下的一个妖怪吃掉了，而这个邻居恰巧是训练有素的杀手，并且确信Aurora的父母是被一群来杀自己的人给误杀，于是，杀手的第一要务变成了保护小女孩的安全，两人一起上路，并肩面对自身的恶魔。

Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
