《奇怪的末班车》高中生三上圭介结束了学校的社团活动已是深夜，他好不容易等来了末班车，车上的气氛却十分诡异；《同学会的通知》放弃了美大的梦想，女孩小山今日香正在参加补习，某天她收到一通小学同学会的电话留言，于是和好友惠相约前往那个未知的所在；《恶梦十三日》人生正逢低谷的青年高崎圭太（向井理 饰）好不容易找到一份能够提供宿舍的工作，可是他所在宿舍房间每到深夜2点就会传来奇怪的声音；《深渊迷路孩童》小女孩彩香（芦田爱菜 饰）独自住院，某天夜里她结识了自称住在老楼的轮椅姐姐，两人成了好朋友；《愤怒的红宝石》宝石设计师川原美里受雇对一枚红宝石进行改造，结果遭遇了最为离奇的一段经历。
好像一切都很糟糕
Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
