Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　魔术师社长杜新月一直想要得到业内早已经失传的传奇魔术秘笈《三式详解》，然而拥有该秘籍的童铁却拒绝将它交给心术不正的杜新月。愤怒之中，杜新月买通了童铁的助手，让她在童铁表演逃脱魔术的道具上做了手脚，导致童铁在表演过程中惨死。不仅如此，他们还继续迫害知道秘籍下落的童铁的儿子童行。　　根据父亲留下的项链，童行来到了龙泉寺，在那里的方丈将《三式详解》交给了他，可就在这个节骨眼上，一直尾随童行的方教授现身抢走了秘籍，然而螳螂捕蝉黄雀在后，杜新月紧随其后打倒了方教授，试图抢夺秘籍，最终会鹿死谁手呢？
