　　In a small, remote village in upstate Quebec, things have changed. Locals are not the same anymore - their bodies are breaking down and they developed an outlandish attraction for flesh.

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 錺（かざり）職人のもとに奉公していた幸助（片岡千之助）は、ようやく8年の年季が明けることになった。                                                                      　　幸助は幼馴染のお蝶（北 香那）という娘に想いを寄せていた。                                                                      　　5年前、幸助とお蝶は年季が明けるその日、刻は暮六ツに、萬年橋で会う約束をしていた。                                                                      　　互いに想いながらもこの5年の間、幸助は人には言えない秘密を抱えていた。                                                                      　　また、お蝶の身にも幸助には話せない辛い思いがあった。                                                                      　　橋が見渡せる川辺からそっとお蝶を探す幸助。懐にはお蝶の為に作った簪（かんざし）が入っている。                                                                      　　果たして二人は萬年橋で再会することができるのか……。
