　　明正德年间，禁卫百户耿烈因钦差被杀贬为捕头。此时宁昌府发生连串命案，波及宁王寿宴，耿烈奉命追查。为宁王献画富商被毒杀，刺杀钦差的女杀手再次出现，这一切让耿烈意识到宁昌府酝酿的风暴，将会改变大明的朝局。
